On behalf of the Discovery Bay Community Services District Board
of Directors, we thank you for the opportunity to represent and
serve the citizens of our town. Discovery Bay is a Special
District, not a municipality. We have jurisdiction over
water, wastewater, lighting, landscaping, parks, and recreation
services.
Our Town is located within the unincorporated jurisdiction of
Contra Costa County. Land use, roadway maintenance, storm
drain upkeep, public works, and law enforcement services are
provided by the County. Fire protection services are
provided by the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District.
Levees are maintained by Reclamation District 800.
Although we do not have control over these services, Town
staff can often assist in helping you contact the appropriate
agency to address any concerns you may have.
As a Board, we strive to make Discovery Bay a community that
people are proud to call home. Our goal is to deliver
quality water and wastewater services at a reasonable cost,
provide a variety of recreational programming that targets all
age groups, and to provide family parks with a vast mixture of
amenities. We invite you to visit the Community Center and
enjoy the dog park or a game of tennis or pickleball. We
anticipate being ready for swim season with a newly renovated
pool. Landscape upgrades are underway at various locations
around Town.
Discovery Bay takes great pride in being at the forefront of
strong fiscal responsibility, having effective sustainability
practices, open transparency, and having a professional dedicated
staff. We hold the “District of Distinction”
certification at the “Platinum Level.” Out of
over 2,300 Special Districts in California, only 12 have been
awarded the Platinum Level of governance.
